Rare Danish safari-style Model 60 chair designed by Poul Hundevad, the celebrated Danish designer best known for his iconic Guldhøj stool. Produced in Denmark circa the late 1950s, this sculptural lounge chair exemplifies the clean lines and functional elegance of mid-century Scandinavian design.

The chair features a solid oak frame that has been cleaned and refreshed, paired with newly upholstered sling seat and back cushions in a subtle striped textile that complements the warm tone of the wood. True to classic safari chair construction, the frame is designed to be easily disassembled, with interlocking joinery allowing the piece to break down for transport. The chair retains its original maker’s tag.

As typical of this form, the frame has a slight looseness inherent to its knock-down construction; a new owner could choose to glue the joints for greater rigidity if desired.
