About

SABIN

Established in 2015, SABIN is a Los Angeles-based design company committed to creating heirloom quality home furnishings and accessories. Inspired by California's dynamic and varied architectural past, SABIN’s designs borrow from Spanish colonial, Art Deco and mid-century modern motifs, allowing each piece to fit comfortably within contemporary living spaces. SABIN is handcrafted in sunny Los Angeles in collaboration with locally-based craftsmen (and women), and responsibly made to stay with you throughout your life.

The collection includes made-to-order sofas, credenzas and sideboards, desks, lounge seating, side and coffee tables and more. Pieces can be ordered in a range of fabrics, leathers, woods and metal finishes with large swatches available online.

Sabin Ousey

Sabin Ousey, SABIN's Founder and Creative Director, is a California native and a veteran of the LA design world. The SABIN aesthetic is very much rooted in his love of travel, ongoing sense of adventure and the landscape and architecture of the west. Sabin grew up in Santa Barbara, a town known for its architectural heritage, which infused within him a love for design, exploration and nature. His professional training began at UC Santa Cruz where he studied Environmental Studies and Studio Art. He then moved to London to live, work and travel, which clarified his passion for design and infused his work with a European sensibility. Ultimately, Sabin received a BA in Industrial Arts with an emphasis in Product Design from San Francisco State University. After working on the opening of the Clift Hotel, an Ian Schrager and Philippe Starck space in San Francisco, he returned to Southern California, pursuing Interior Design at UCLA. For the past 10 years, he’s served as Showroom Manager at Lawson-Fenning, a top furniture destination in Los Angeles where he oversaw quality control, liaised with designers and manufacturers, designed custom furniture and established deep relationships with the nation’s top designers and architects.
